About Wesley
Wesley Don Hopkins was born in Cinnaminson New Jersey fifteen minutes outside of Philadelphia. Wesley grew up the youngest out of 4 siblings. from a very young age, Wesley was constantly exposed to the world of theater with both of his sisters incredibly active within the Theater scene. When it was time for his turn on stage, Wesley never stopped creating. In high school, Wesley was infatuated with larger-than-life characters. Wesley has such a large presence on stage because of his admiration for artists like Zero Mostel, Nathan Lane, and Patti Lupone.
Wesley, with his love of musical theater, received a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Musical Theater from the University of the Arts. During his time at Uarts, Wesley engulfed himself in his artistry working on established roles such as Dennis in All Shook Up, Jamie in The Last Five Years, Mr. T in Promenade, Rusty Charlie in Guys and Dolls, Gerard in American Idiot, and Double J in Saturday Night Fever. Wesley is also a Cabaret performer that has performed at Don’t Tell Mama on Broadway and many other regional cabarets. Wesley’s life goal is to change how musical theater is represented within the art canon. While this industry produces amazing works of art, Wesley wants to critically deconstruct well-established shows so future generations have the agency to bring these works to life forever.
